OUR VISION

Make detection and treatment for heart defects accessible and affordable to all by lowering costs through innovation.

OUR MISSION

Save young lives coming from underprivileged families; lower infant mortality rate through early detection and treatment of heart defects.

When asked which Indian social service organisations I most respect and admire, at the top of a very short list is the Aishwarya Trust. Founded on a big idea and run with exemplary passion, dedication, love, care, focus, efficiency, quality, efficiency and integrity, they do rather than tell. The outcome they achieve speaks for itself…

HISTORY

It was following the loss of my beautiful daughter, Aishwarya, to a congenital heart defect and with the inspiration of a friend that Aishwarya Trust was founded in March 2008 in Chennai. My father K Nagarajan is the founder and backbone of the Trust. Our personal life-changing experience with Aishwarya has made this cause very real, meaningful and worthwhile for us.

Every year hundreds of thousands of children are born with severe congenital heart defects in India. What’s worse is that most parents cannot afford the required life -saving surgery. Aishwarya Trust is a charitable organisation that seeks to reduce the number of preventable deaths associated with CHD. Our comprehensive program includes screening, diagnosis, treatment and review.

We have helped screen more than 2.21 lakh children and supported more than 8,150 successful surgeries so far. Seeing these children lead happy and healthy lives has spurred us on to redouble our efforts. We hope to increase the magnitude of our assistance in the future. With your support and well wishes this dream can soon become a reality.

Chitra Viswanathan, Trustee, Aishwarya Trust

The bird and the heart in the Aishwarya Trust logo symbolise the free spirit that gets kindled in little children when they are free of all constraints in their heart – both literally and figuratively. Our mission is to help as many of these little angels, set them free of heart ailments and allow them to soar high and achieve bigger things in life.

Aishwarya Trust, under the leadership of Mrs. Chitra Viswanathan, is doing outstanding work in the focused area of providing medical support to underprivileged children with CHD in Tamil Nadu. A civilized society should not allow its young to die, only for want of means. Institutions like Aiswarya Trust truly give us the comfort that our society is civilized and caring.
