Shahzadi Fatima, a 33-year-old, unmarried Kashmiri woman from an underprivileged background, suffered from Restrictive Cardiomyopathy  (a condition where the heart chambers become stiff) for the past ten years. She was brought to MGM Healthcare, Chennai,  to undergo further treatment. However, with a worsening heart failure symptom, a heart transplant was the only option left to save her life. Her brother, a daily wage earner, was unable to bear the mounting medical expenses or the cost of a heart transplant. Hearing about her plight, Aishwarya Trust decided to support the entire cost of the transplant. Led by Dr. K.R. Balakrishnan, she underwent a successful heart transplant on January 26, 2022, at MGM Healthcare.

On February 23rd, a Press conference was held at MGM Hospital, to introduce Shahzadi Fatima. At the Press Conference, Shahzadi Fatima expressed her gratitude to Aishwarya Trust and Ms. Chitra Viswanathan, for fully funding the cost of the transplant. She was also grateful to the team of Doctors at MGM Healthcare, led by Dr. K.R. Balakrishnan and Dr. Suresh Rao for giving her a new lease of life.
